Some objects are made to blend in; this one is made to be recognised. The navy "Buttero" exterior carries the composed authority of a well-cut coat, and then the ostrich leg band arrives at the lower half — scaled, warm, slightly wild — the kind of detail that takes more confidence to include than to leave out. Open it and the interior is all calm: caramel hide, hand-stitched slots, a whisper of sheepskin at your fingertips. Walpier's Tuscan leather will deepen with use, and the ostrich will soften, and in five years you will have something that looks nothing like anyone else's wallet. Another maker's favorite.
